2025 Fees

The Cardinals executive have decided to keep fees for 2025 the same as 2024. The extreme generosity of the Saskatoon Berries last year, purchasing jerseys and for our Jr and Sr Rally Cap players, we found ourself with a surplus in our financials. Our costs are going up about 8% this year so please expect a fee increase for 2026.

Note: The Berries donation of jerseys and hats for the Jr & Sr Rally program was for all 5 zones and was worth about $50,000! Please support the team when you have time by attending a game!

New to ARC in 2025

All players wishing to play in the ARC league this year will be required to attend evaluations this year. This league was established for Sr Rally aged players that play at a higher level than others in their age group. The reason that Baseball Saskatoon added evaluations this year is to ensure that all of the players in this league have a similar skill level. This will also help the zones form teams that have balanced skill levels.

NOTE: Only players born in 2016 are eligible to evaluate for ARC (or 11U)

Notes:

Baseball Saskatoon has made the difficult decision to no longer accept players from outside our city limits due to increasing registration numbers. There is simply a lack of diamonds, particularly at the 11U level.

All zones in Saskatoon, with the exception of the Royals all-female zone, will no longer accept registrations for players born in 2012 or later who reside outside of the Saskatoon city limits for Jr., Sr. and Advanced Rally Cap, 11U, 13U as well as city wide 15U AAA and 18U AAA.

This season, players residing outside the city in 15U and 18U and born 2011 or before will be “grandfathered” and can continue to play for Baseball Saskatoon zones and will still require a zone transfer from Baseball Sask.

Baseball Saskatoon made a proposal to Baseball Sask for a new boundary that would have acreages and communities on the outskirts of the city included in Zone 6, consistent with the Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association, but was unsuccessful.

Teams formed in Zone 5 will be accepted to play in leagues in the city provided there are adequate facilities for hosting home games.

Thank you for your understanding of this challenging decision.

  • Jr. Rally Cap – Players born in 2018 who have played a year in Jr. Rally can choose to register in either Jr. or Sr. Rally Cap.
  • Sr. Rally Cap – If you wish your Sr. Rally age child to try out for 11U or ARC please register in 11U or ARC. Your child must be born in 2016 in order to make 11U as a player. If your child doesn’t end up playing in 11U and goes back to Sr. Rally you would be refunded $125 ($275 + $50 Evaluation fee, $325-$450). If they play ARC, they would be refunded $125 as the ARC fee includes the evaluation fee. If your player registers for ARC and doesn’t end up playing ARC you will not receive a refund as the $325 includes the $50 evaluation fee.
  • Adv. Sr. Rally Cap – Only open to players born in 2016 that evaluate at a level high enough to play in this league. The season runs May 1st-June 30th on Sr Rally Cap diamonds. This league plays 11U ‘A’ rules all season.
  • 11U: There are some significant changes for players and families when entering this age group. Players born in 2014 or 2015 are eligible to play 11U in 2025.
  • Underage players evaluating for 11U: Players born in 2016 may evaluate for 11U. There is no guarantee that an underage player will play 11U. If we are short 11U aged players to make full teams in 11U we will bring up underage players. For Example: If we were short 5 players to have full teams in 11U we would ask the top 5 underage players if they would like to play 11U and place them in a tier that was equal to their skill level.
  • If you are not a resident of Zone 6 and register with the Cardinals you must apply for a zone transfer. Please be aware that your zone transfer may be declined. If your transfer is declined we will refund your registration fee, minus $50 fee for evaluations. For more information on zone transfers please contact Mike Ramage at mike@baseballsask.ca

  • 15U AAA – 15U AAA continues as a province-wide format for 2025. There is no longer 15U AAA at the zone level.  Players trying out must register with both the SBAAABL and their respective zone.  The tryout fee must be paid at that time with SBAAABL only, and following tryouts players will pay their regular season fees to either the SBAAABL or their zone.  Register Here.  Don’t forget – you still need to register with the Cardinals.

All players from 11U through 18U will be evaluated in order to be placed on teams with players of similar abilities.  Please remember that “AAA” baseball requires a major commitment from players and parents.  This commitment begins with extra practices on a regular basis and includes additional tournaments throughout the season.  The “AAA” season ends well into July or possibly August with Provincial Championships and League Championships.  Please talk to the appropriate coordinator prior to evaluations if you have any questions regarding these commitments.  You will be contacted by a coordinator regarding the time and location for evaluations.
